Stinkee Candle
For our Stinkee candle project we had to make a parody of a candle that no one would really want to have as a candle. These candles are inspired by the Yankee Candle. For my Stinkee candle I picked to do Tuna Fish, I picked Tuna Fish because not many people like the smell of tuna fish when it comes out of the can. To start this project we had to make a digital collage in Photoshop of three or more different images to make a solid, realistic looking candle jar label. After I arranged the photos around and finished my label, I merged the layers today and moved it over to the boarder of the gold one on the Yankee candles you see today. After I finished all of that I went into Illustrator and used the pen tool to do the outline of a gar with no fill. After I did half the jar I used the 3D revolve effect to get it to look like a full jar, I also change the color of the jar to what I would want my wax color to be. I used blue because tuna come from the sea and I wanted to stay the same with the theme. After i finished making my own jar we took a picture of a blank candle jar and moved it under my jar. Using the eraser tool I started to easy away the jar I made so i could get it to look like the wax. Once I got pass the wick of the candle I lowered the flow and opacity of it and did the edges to give it a real life look. To combine my jar that I made in Illustrator and Photoshop, I exported my candle to Photoshop so I could put my label on it. I map my label on the jar and centered it to the way I liked and I was finally finished my candle. I am pretty proud of how it turned out, I really enjoyed doing this project and creating my own candle!
